FAQ | Skyline Apps — Common Questions Answered

Question 1

Where is Skyline Apps based?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Brooklyn, NY. We work with clients across the US and internationally, and we're comfortable with remote collaboration across time zones.

Question 2

What size companies do you work with?

Accepted Answer

We work with everyone from solo founders and small businesses to mid-market companies and funded startups. Our sweet spot is businesses that need a serious digital product but don't want to hire an in-house team.

Question 3

Do you sign NDAs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We're happy to sign a mutual NDA before any project discussions. Just ask and we'll send one over.

Question 4

Who owns the code and designs after the project?

Accepted Answer

You do. Once the project is paid in full, you own 100% of the code, designs, and all other deliverables. We don't retain any licensing rights.

Question 5

How long does a typical project take?

Accepted Answer

A Starter website takes 7–10 days. A Business website takes 2–4 weeks. Custom web apps and mobile apps typically take 6–16 weeks depending on scope. We'll give you a specific timeline in your project proposal.

Question 6

What does your process look like?

Accepted Answer

We follow a 7-stage process: Discovery → Strategy → Design → Development → Testing → Launch → Support. You'll have visibility at every stage and a dedicated point of contact throughout.

Question 7

How do you handle revisions?

Accepted Answer

Starter projects include 1 round of revisions, Business projects include 3 rounds, and Custom App projects include unlimited revisions within scope. We define 'revision' clearly in the project agreement so there are no surprises.

Question 8

Can I see progress during the project?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We set up a staging environment early in the project so you can review work in progress. We also do weekly check-ins and demos for longer projects.

Question 9

How much does a website cost?

Accepted Answer

Our Starter websites begin at $499 and Business websites at $1,499. Custom web apps start at $3,999. The final price depends on your specific requirements — we'll give you a fixed-price quote after a brief discovery call.

Question 10

Do you charge hourly or fixed price?

Accepted Answer

We work on fixed-price contracts for all projects. You'll know exactly what you're paying before we start — no hourly billing surprises.

Question 11

What are your payment terms?

Accepted Answer

We typically split projects into two payments: 50% upfront to kick off the project, and 50% on delivery. For larger projects, we use milestone-based billing tied to project phases.

Question 12

Do you offer payment plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for projects over $1,500 we can arrange monthly payment plans. Contact us to discuss options.

Question 13

What technologies do you use?

Accepted Answer

Our core stack is React, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL for web apps. For mobile, we use React Native. For AI features, we work with OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models. We choose the right tool for each project — not the trendiest one.

Question 14

Can you work with our existing codebase?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We're experienced at joining existing projects, conducting code audits, and extending or refactoring existing systems. We'll review your codebase before committing to a scope.

Question 15

Do you build on Shopify, WordPress, or other platforms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We build on Shopify for eCommerce, WordPress for content-heavy sites, and fully custom stacks for applications that need more flexibility. We'll recommend the right platform for your use case.

Question 16

Can you integrate AI into my existing product?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We specialize in adding AI capabilities to existing products — chatbots, document intelligence, recommendation engines, and automation pipelines. We'll assess your current stack and propose the best integration approach.

Question 17

What happens after launch?

Accepted Answer

All projects include post-launch support: 30 days for Starter, 60 days for Business, and 90 days for Custom App. After that, we offer monthly maintenance plans starting at $149/month.

Question 18

Do you offer hosting?

Accepted Answer

We don't sell hosting directly, but we'll set up and configure your hosting environment on the provider that best fits your project — AWS, Vercel, Netlify, DigitalOcean, or others. We'll hand it over with full documentation.

Question 19

What if something breaks after launch?

Accepted Answer

During your post-launch support period, we fix any bugs at no extra charge. After that, bug fixes are covered under our maintenance plans or billed at our standard rate.
